I know, I know. I haven't updated the blog now in almost two weeks. Well, in that two weeks, my new job has taken up a lot of my time. And having Blogger blocked from my work computer, that leaves a very few hours of the early morning (5:15-6:30) and after Chloe goes to bed (about 8:00) to actually get things done. That includes doing dishes, bottles, laundry, and all that fun stuff. As such, the blog has taken a little bit of a backseat. But, here we are with brand new things. I can't promise an increase in frequency, but hopefully the substance will be satisfactory.
So, what's new? Chloe's loving school. We found out this week that she spends part of her day wandering from classroom to classroom with a teacher because they all want to have time with her. They said it's her happy-go-lucky demeanor. My reaction? I'm sorry, are you talking about my child? Only because at night, she just doesn't want to be put down. Of course, that makes sense now if she spends a good part of her day being carried around. However, she does love playing with her toys, laughing at Brody or Hallie, and grabbing onto things that may or may not allow her to pull herself standing. We've had a few head bumps and face plants, but nothing serious, and nothing that's made her start screaming.
She had to miss school on Friday to go to the doctor. She had a fever that was too high to be teething, and then she threw up. Just the once, but that was more than enough. She didn't eat a lot yesterday, but her fever was gone and the doctor said that there was no sign of any infection in her ears. Thank God! I had enough of those as a kid, I'd rather not deal with it right now. So, because of this, she hasn't been sleeping all that great at night and we're exhausted. I know, I know, we got ourselves into this. Well, last night was better, but she's not back to sleeping all the way through yet. Plus, we can't see any of the obvious warning signs, but the doctor said she should be getting teeth soon. Of course, this same doctor said the same thing eight weeks ago and still no teeth. Other than some increased drooling, I look and feel her gums and can't tell a thing. But what do I know, I'm just her dad.
Chloe received some presents this week for Valentine's Day. A big thank you to Jean and Richard Haring for their thoughtfulness. As you can see from the pictures below, Chloe really enjoys unwrapping presents, so if you want to send her gift-wrapped items, I know she wouldn't put up a fuss. She's currently 19lbs, 2oz and several inches over 2-feet now, which translates into 12-month size. Long sleeves, since it's still a bit chilly outside. Or socks. As always, books are definitely welcome. We can never have enough books. Chloe already has one full shelf to herself, plus a few that are edging their way onto one of my shelves. I'm just saying this in case anyone feels like donating to a good cause. If you need the mailing address, let me know and I'll get it to you. You know, just in case.
