Square One

Well, as you can see, it's almost 3am. It's time to sleep-train...again. Have I mentioned how much I hate that she caught that illness? Two weeks of blissful sleep, followed by two weeks of three to four wakings per night, and now back to 3am wakings accompanied by doing dishes and watching the clock.

6-Month Doctor Visit

Just a quick update on Chloe's stats from her doctor visit this morning.

  • Weight: 17lbs, 2oz - This puts her right on the 75th Percentile line. She actually lost a few ounces from being sick.

  • Length: 26in - This puts her about the 65th Percentile for height.

  • Head Circumference: 16-3/4in - This has her around the 55th Percentile.

All in all, she's still doing great. Happy Monday!

The Long-Awaited Rice Cereal Video

This is a test phrase so that I don't get mad that I wrote a nice intro (again) and the video doesn't work. If you're reading this, I'm most likely in the process of writing said intro, so come back to read it. Thanks. -Josh
Update: If you're reading this and the video still isn't working, I've found out why. It seems that it takes a few hours to actually display the video. So, that's what I'm testing here. Right now, it is 9:35am EST. I'll check back around noon, and see if there has been any change. Wish us luck. Of course, if you're visiting here and you can actually see the video, then just disregard this message, and enjoy!

Finally...Oh, yeah. I've removed the audio so we don't sound like morons. Enjoy!

I Feel Like I Keep Apologizing...

Here it is again, my apologies for the 10-day gap in posts. The last three weeks have been just ugly. The important thing is that Chloe looks and sounds a lot better. A little cough every once in a while, but no fever, runny nose, and all that comes with RSV. Other than Chloe's illness, the only other excuse is that Lena and I have both been sick as well. I, finally, made it to the doctor last Wednesday, only to be diagnosed with a sinus infection and bronchitis. Oh joy! Lena's cold is getting better, too. Luckily, we seem to have dodged the bronchitis bullet with her. Brody, our loving puppy, was sick as well. But, his ear infection seems to be gone. Here is Chloe with her nebulizer breathing treatment:

Also, my parents were here the last four days, spending an early Christmas with their newest grandchild. Good times were had by all. Here is Chloe with some of her new stuff:

Eating the paper. We surmise that it probably tastes like the rice cereal.

And here is the little darling this morning, looking a lot better, and sitting up on our bed with Brody:

The Infirmary & First Meal

Okay, so we're all on the mend. I contracted what I can only describe as a throat-festering plague that, unfortunately, passed to Chloe. I'm feeling close to 100% again; just under from lack of sleep. Lena now has what I had, and her voice has all but left the building. Chloe hit up the doctor again this afternoon. And what does she have? All together now: Respiratory Syncytial Virus. Yes, that's right, she has RSV, the very illness she was supposed to get a vaccination for, yet the insurance company denied her. I won't go into all the details, as some of them are a bit fuzzy at the moment, but she has a bad virus that should have been prevented. Anyway, she's on a few medications, and will hopefully be feeling great soon. In the meantime, here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Mommy's sickies.

Chloe also had her first "solid" food this week; a nice slushy bowl of rice cereal. Yum!

Portrait of a Baby

Yesterday was Chloe's first portrait sitting. Grammy and Bapa paid for an early Christmas present for Chloe, and here are a few of the results:

Here, she's just eaten, but apparently her dress tasted good.

What a cut up!
